6110R Installation Instructions

These steps will guide you through the Installation of Aventurin{e} 6110R:

Requirements:

You need a working BlueOnyx 5211R server to install Aventurin{e} 6110R. If you have not already done so, download the free BlueOnyx 5211R ISO image from one of the official mirrors. Use it to boot a server and follow the installation instructions. The boot procedure off the ISO image will wipe the disks of that server and will install a fresh and fully working BlueOnyx 5211R on it. After you have configured the network and finished the initial setup of your BlueOnyx please go to "Software Updates" in order to prepare your server for the installation of the Aventurin{e} 6110R PKG.

Install Required Software:

If you have not already done so, then in your BlueOnyx 5211R GUI interface go to "Software Updates" / "Third Party Software" and install the "NewLinQ" package:

That will establish a connection to the NewLinQ software distribution server of the BlueOnyx Shop.

BlueOnyx Shop Account:

If you do not already have an account in the BlueOnyx Shop, then please register one. This is a required step. If you already have a BlueOnyx Shop account, simply login.

Free Bundle:

In the BlueOnyx Shop add the "Free Bundle" to your shopping cart and check out to finalize this zero cost purchase.

Link the Bundle:

Return to the GUI interface of your BlueOnyx 5211R. Under "Software Updates" / "BlueOnyx Shop" / "Link a package" enter the email address and password of your BlueOnyx Shop account:

This should then show the "Free Bundle" available for linkage to this BlueOnyx 5211R. Click on the pen icon to link the "Free Bundle" to your BlueOnyx:

Package Installation:

Navigate to "Third Party Software" and if need be, click on the button "Check Availability Now". But you should already be able to see the Package "Aventurin{e} 6110R" as listed as available for install:

Click on the pen icon next to the "Aventurin{e} 6110R" package, confirm the installation, accept the license conditions and wait for the installation to complete:

Post Installation Steps:

Once the installation has successfully completed, please log out of your BlueOnyx 5211R GUI interface and then log back in. This should make the new Incus related GUI management pages visible:

Just in case you still don't see the menu option "Incus Management"? In that case login to your server as "root" by SSH and delete the file /usr/sausalito/capcache/admin_capabilityGroups. It will be automatically recreated and contains cached information about the menu structure to speed up the GUI. The PKG installer is supposed to delete it in the post-install script, but it may get recreated automatically before the new menu structure is properly indexed. Logout of the GUI, logging back in and then manually deleting the file /usr/sausalito/capcache/admin_capabilityGroups solved this issue.

Before you start using Aventurin{e} 6110R and Incus you should perform some required configurations.

You might want to continue to the next manual page, which explains how to ready your Aventurin{e} 6110R install to serve Incus instances.
