Aventurin{e} 6110R v1.1.6-1 released
An updated version of Aventurin{e} has been released.
Aventurin{e} 6110R went through another development stage and the latest version has just been released: v1.1.6-1
What's new?
VLAN support
All Incus Instances (CTs and VMs) now run in their own separate VLAN.
This is realized via OpenVSwitch (OVS) and a new separate network bridge called vlan-br0. This bridge doesn't have an IP and it doesn't need one.
"Network" now also shows all VLANs and which IPs are used on each VLAN.
The feature IPv4-Filter, IPv6-Filter and MAC-Filter has been removed entirely and if you still have an instance that uses it? That will continue to work. The next time you save the Instance settings via the GUI the Instance will be automatically converted to VLAN. The reason for removing IPv4-Filter, IPv6-Filter and MAC-Filter is simple: If used, each Instance network device can only have a single IPv4/IPv6 assigned. If you want to assign additional IPs to an instance, then this requires extra network devices for each IP. Which is just too weird to consider it practical.
As network security is a must, VLANs via OpenVSwitch just offer a much better and more seamless approach that securely allows usage of multiple IPs in the same instance (Container *and* Virtual-Machine).
"Projects" (end user or reseller management) now allows IP assignment to instances via tabled slider. The user can assign unused IPs from his pool of allowed IPs to instances via this slider.
Additionally this latest released contains a heap of fixes small and large.
Work in Progress
The next step of the Aventurin{e} 6110R development will be an API and management module to provision Incus Instances (CTs and VMs) via WHMCS.
